Biceps have been rippling and skips have been filling fast in London’s Crouch Hill over the last couple of weeks since getting the keys to Tree Couture‘s fabulous new handcrafted furniture atelier. The sheer volume of ‘stuff’ to clear out has felt at times a little overwhelming, but the fun really got going when we entered demolition mode and ugly internal structures started tumbling down. In a fortnight I went from a weedy Olive Oyl to a muscle-bound Popeye! But that wasn’t the only transformation…
The main workshop area was transformed from a grotty junkyard to a unique space of cathedralesque magnificence!
The festering alley along the side of the building was transformed into a shining path!
And most importantly – while we have yet to fit out and kit out the whole space – the sad, unoccupied structure that was the empty building in Crouch Hill mews entered a new era and was transformed into Tree Couture‘s vibrant new creative home.
So, apart from a little mishap which left me with a crushed and broken finger thankfully on the right (ie left!) hand, we’re on track to getting ready to start producing our limited edition furniture in just a matter of weeks, when we can really start working those miracles.
